As a pet owner and artist, it seemed only natural that I would paint my pets but it wasn’t until I lost my dog Molly to cancer that I turned to my art to help me get over the loss, but also to create something to remember her by.
I studied with Vivien Walters in the UK, learning how to draw animals in pastels and have been painting pet portraits ever since.
Most of my pet portraits are in pastel, often painted on velour, a very soft smooth textured paper which gives the painting a soft look as you can see in the gallery of pet portraits. Other drawing mediums are also available.
Pet portraits can be commissioned and take anything from ten days to six weeks to complete depending on complexity and my current bookings. Prices are set according to the materials and size of pet portrait to be undertaken.
